Men's Tennis Comes Up Short Against Western Illinois

ELSAH, ILL. - The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's tennis team lost a 6-3 decision to NCAA Division I Western Illinois Sunday.

The Tritons (0-3) picked up victories at Nos. 1 and 2 doubles for an early 2-0 lead, but captured just one victory in singles play.

Juniors Jamie Lawlor and Tim Bryant posted an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles, while freshman Andreas Hammar and junior Daniel Anthony also won by the same score at No. 2 doubles.

Anthony then rallied for a 5-7, 6-4, 10-5 win at No. 3 singles.

UMSL will compete in the Principia Tournament this weekend in Elsah, Ill.
