SIZING UP THE TRITONSUMSL is 6-10 overall, including 0-7 in the GLVC, and coming off home losses to Wisconsin-Parkside (70-66) last Thursday and to Lewis (71-68) last Saturday, in which the Flyers hit a three-quarters-court shot to earn the win. Of their seven GLVC losses, four have come by four or fewer points and another by less than 10 points.
Senior
Brandon Marquardt leads the offense with 15.5 points per game, shooting 51.3 percent from the field, including 50.9 percent from three-point range, where he has knocked down 57 long balls. Marquardt ranks seventh in all of NCAA DII in total three-pointers made and three-pointers per game (3.56) and is ninth in three-point field goal percentage. Marquardt also adds 3.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.
Redshirt freshman
Joshua Webster adds 9.9 points per game and has reached double figures in five of the last seven games. Webster is shooting 53.5 percent from the field and also leads the team in steals (17) and blocks (17), while averaging 3.8 assists per game. He ranks 14th nationally in NCAA DII in assist-turnover ratio (3.16), while junior
Joseph English ranks 24th (3.00) in that same category.
As a team, the Tritons are 19th nationally in assist-turnover ratio (1.43) and rank 23rd in assists per game (17.0). English averages a team-best 4.3 assists per game and contributes 9.8 points per game.

Brandon Marquardt has 111 three-pointers in two seasons at UMSL, one shy of cracking the top 10, and is shooting 48.1 percent from beyond the arc, which currently ranks first on the career charts.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTSTruman State is 12-5 overall and 4-3 in GLVC play, where they sit in a tie for third place in the West Division. The Bulldogs lost back-to-back games last weekend at No. 9 Bellarmine and Southern Indiana, which snapped an eight game-win streak, but are 6-1 at home. Four different players average double figures, led by Cory Myers' 12.3 points per game to go with 4.4 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.1 steals per game. Truman State is averaging 9.5 three-point field goals per game and in GLVC-only games, ranks first with 9.14 steals per game.
Quincy enters a Thursday home game against Maryville with an 11-5 overall record, including a 5-2 mark in GLVC and sit atop the West Division standings with Drury. The Hawks, 9-1 at home, had a six-game win streak snapped on Saturday at No. 9 Bellarmine in a narrow 81-79 loss. Quincy is averaging league-bests of 86.4 points per game and 10.29 three-point field goals per game in GLVC-only contests. Joseph Tagarelli averages 17.0 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, while Evan McGaughey adds 12.7 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.
SERIES HISTORIESUMSL is 25-14 all-time against Truman State and has won three straight, sweeping the Bulldogs last season.
The Tritons are 24-38 against Quincy. The two teams have split each of the last two years, each winning on its homecourt with three of the four games being decided by three or less points.
UP NEXTUMSL opens a four-game homestand next weekend, hosting William Jewell on Thursday and Rockhurst on Saturday.
