LEXINGTON, KY. - The 2015 UMSL volleyball team has been named as one of 762 recipients of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award.

The award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least at 3.30 cumulative team GPA.

The Tritons posted a team GPA of 3.56 during the 2015-16 year.

Of the record-breaking 762 teams honored, 119 teams came from NCAA Division II.
