INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – The Great Lakes Valley Conference has released its list of Academic All-Conference selections for the 2017-18 academic year, and the University of Missouri-St. Louis had a record 120 student-athletes receive recognition for their academic accomplishments.
 
All 13 of UMSL's sports programs were represented on the list with baseball accounting for the most with 19 student-athletes being named, while women's golf and women's tennis had each member of their respective rosters honored.
 
The 120 student-athletes honored betters the previous record of 101 last year.
 
There were a total of 58 student-athletes who were repeat recipients for this award, having been named at least once before during their career, including four-time honorees Ares Boira (women's golf), Alexa Capesius (women's golf), Stefaniya Ivanova (women's golf), Kristoffer Lindal (men's tennis), Markus Lindberg (men's golf), Kara Roggemann (volleyball), Kevin Smith (baseball), Kristen Uradzionek (volleyball) and Baylee Williams (women's soccer).

The Academic All-GLVC honor is bestowed upon student-athletes who meet a cumulative GPA of 3.30 over two semesters of an academic year at the institution. In all, a total of 2,924 student-athletes from 15 member schools garnered Academic All-GLVC distinction.
