STUDENT-ATHLETE (Baseball)
Gregg Ready played four years for UMSL baseball, where the team averaged 27 wins per year during his career and never had a losing season. The team advanced to the NCAA Regionals in each of his four years as a player, including a trip to the NCAA College World Series in 1977. Ready was an honorable mention All-American selection in 1977 and followed that up with first team All-American honors in 1978. He was also a two-time, first team all-region selection in both 1977 and 1978.

Ready still holds the UMSL single game records for most hits in a game with five, and most stolen bases in a game with five. In addition, he is the school's all-time career hits leader with 228 hits and is the school’s all-time leader in stolen bases with 122 career steals.
