STUDENT-ATHLETE (Baseball)
Jim Lockett played three seasons for the UMSL baseball team from 1977 to 1979, helping the team advance to the NCAA Regionals all three seasons and to the College World Series in 1977. As a senior in 1979, he was named a first team all-region selection and a second team All-American. That season, he finished with a .483 batting average that still ranks as the best season average in school history. Jim ranks ninth in career hits and is fourth in career triples.
