A three-time All-GLVC and All-Region selection, Joe Atkisson graduated as the career leader in scoring average at 75.27, which now ranks ninth. He also graduated as the career leader in rounds of par or better (27) and rounds played (128) and recorded 17 top-10 finishes. As a junior in 2013, he became the program's first GLVC Championship medalist. During his career, he led team UMSL teams to NCAA Regional Tournament appearances (2011, 2013, 2014) with two of those advancing to the NCAA Championships (2011, 2013) with the 2013 team tying for seventh place nationally. Atkisson was also an individual qualifier to the NCAA Regional Tournament in 2012 and in 2013 set a then 54-hole school record at the NCAA Midwest/Central Regional with a 210.
