ST. LOUIS, MO. – Junior
Katie Rapisardo found the back of the net with just over 16 minutes to play, breaking a scoreless game and helping the University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Maryville on Wednesday night in the final game of the 2014 season.
UMSL closes out its season with an 8-8-1 record, including a 6-8-1 mark in the GLVC, recording a .500 season for the first time since 2011. The eight wins also equal the combined number of wins in the last two previous seasons. Maryville also saw its season come to an end and finishes 6-8-3 and 5-8-2 in the league.
Rapisardo's goal was her third of the season and came as she picked up a loose ball rebound in the box. Freshman
Stephanie Hulett was credited with the assist.
Junior
Hunter Wagoner led UMSL with four shots, landing two on goal. UMSL tallied seven shots, including four on goal, while Maryville recorded 13 shots, but put just two on target. Five of the Saints' shots came after the Tritons goal.
The Saints nearly tied it up with six minutes to play, but
Megan Ohm stopped the threat with one of her two saves.
