Kelly McGovern tallied 10 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and three steals to help the University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball team to a 72-57 win over Lincoln on Friday night in its own UMSL Classic.

Alexis Lawrence scored a game-high 20 points as the Tritons improve to 2-1, while Lincoln was beat for the first time this season, falling to 2-1.
The Tritons overcame 27 turnovers by shooting 45.6 percent and owning a 47-29 rebounding advantage. Junior
Kelly Kunkel also reached double figures with 12 points and added seven rebounds. UMSL connected on 9-of-27 three-point shots, including four from Lawrence.
UMSL scored the game's first 13 points and raced out to a 15-1 lead five minutes into the contest, while Lincoln did not hit its first field goal until the 14:06 mark. The Tritons later took their largest lead of the half at 28-11 on Lawrence's three-point bucket with 9:26 to play.
However, the Blue Tigers outscored UMSL 25-13 to close out the half, trimming the deficit to 41-36 at the break. UMSL was flagged for 17 first half fouls and had seven players with two fouls each, including four starters. Lincoln, which was charged with six first half fouls, took advantage, going 12-of-19 from the free throw line, while the Tritons shot just two free throws in the opening stanza.
The Tritons opened the second half with an 8-0 run, taking a 49-36 lead on McGovern's offensive put back. Defensively, UMSL held Lincoln without a bucket for the first four minutes and limited the Blue Tigers to 25.8 shooting in the final 20 minutes. The Tritons extended the lead to 20 points with just over three minutes to play.
Lincoln shot 32.7 percent in the loss, while the Tritons also limited the Blue Tigers' Katie Frazier to just four points. Frazier had scored 19 points in each of Lincoln's first two wins. Kelsey Williams scored 18 points off the bench for Lincoln.
UMSL is back in action tomorrow at 3 p.m., hosting Minnesota State, a 69-68 winner over Maryville in tonight's first contest.
