Box Score ST. LOUIS, MO. – Sophomore
Jory Siebenmorgen recorded 15 kills and 11 digs to help the University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team to a 3-0 win over Illinois Springfield on Saturday evening in the Great Lakes Valley Conference opener for both teams.
The Tritons won 25-20, 25-19, 25-14 to improve to 4-1 overall, including 1-0 in the GLVC, while UIS slips to 2-3 and 0-1 in the league.
Siebenmorgen hit .538, committing just one error in 26 attempts, as UMSL hit .333 in the match. Junior
Carly Ochs was also efficient offensively, notching 12 kills, while hitting .444, while fellow junior
Jessica Ploss added nine kills and a .412 attack percentage.
Siebenmorgen hit .667 in the first set, recording six kills with no errors in nine swings. The Tritons had built a 23-15 lead before UIS reeled off five straight to pull within 23-20. However, a kill by junior
Hannah Miller ended the run, while junior
Erin Walker's service ace gave the Tritons the set one victory.
UMSL hit .424 in the third set with Ochs and Siebenmorgen each tallying five kills without an error, while the Tritons also recorded three service aces, including two from freshman
Madyson Abeyta off the bench.

Lindsay Meyer directed the offense with 43 assists, while senior
Emily Bragaw tallied 19 digs.
UMSL is back on the court tomorrow at 1 p.m., hosting McKendree.
