Box Score ROLLA, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team saw a four-match win streak snapped on Tuesday night in a 3-1 loss at Missouri S&T in non-conference play. The Miners won 25-19, 25-16, 12-25, 25-22.
UMSL slips to 5-2 with the loss, while Missouri S&T improves to 3-5.
The Tritons were led by senior
Haley Brightwell's 12 kills and 12 digs, while junior
Hannah Miller tied a career-high 11 kills to go with five blocks. Miller hit .688, not committing an error in 18 swings. She also helped UMSL to an 11-7 advantage in blocks.
The Miners recorded 19 of their 56 kills in the set one victory, while hitting at a .500 clip. They finished the contest attacking at a .216 mark, slightly under UMSL's .219. The Tritons totaled 54 kills.
UMSL raced out to a 10-2 lead in the third set en route to that win and seemed poised to extend the match to a fifth set by taking a 20-17 lead in the fourth set. However, Missouri S&T scored five of the next six points and recorded three straight kills to end the match.
Junior
Lindsay Meyer finished with 35 assists and 10 digs, while senior
Emily Bragaw recorded 18 digs. Junior
Jessica Ploss tallied six blocks.
UMSL continues its current three-match roadswing on Saturday, traveling to Lewis in GLVC play.
