ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team allowed a season-high three goals as it suffered a 3-1 setback at Maryville on Wednesday afternoon in the regular season finale.
The Tritons fall to 10-3-4 overall, including 8-3-4 in the GLVC. UMSL will open GLVC Tournament play on Sunday at 1 p.m. at home against an opponent to be determined following the conclusion of all league games this evening.
The Saints improve to 7-7-3 overall, including 6-6-3 in the GLVC and keep their hopes of a league tournament berth alive with the win.
Maryville jumped out to a 2-0 lead 30 minutes into the contest, netting their first goal in the 15
th minute.
Freshman
Lauren Lottmann trimmed the deficit to 2-1 nearly seven minutes into the second half, knocking in her first collegiate goal following a scramble in the box. Sophomore
Baylee Williams and senior
Mary Hoffmann were credited with the assist.
However, the Saints added an insurance goal in the 61
st minute to seal the victory.
UMSL took eight shots, placing seven on goal, including all five attempts from freshman
McKayla Harder. Maryville took seven shots, landing seven on target.

McKenzie DeRouen played all 90 minutes in between the posts, allowing the three goals, while making three saves.
