ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball team rallied from a 17-point deficit, but couldn't pull out the win as Maryville took a 67-62 victory over the Tritons on Thursday night in regular season finale.
The loss also spoiled Senior Night for UMSL, which honored its three graduating players
Alexis Lawrence,
Tierra Snow and
Kelly McGovern after the contest.
UMSL ends the regular season with a 13-13 mark, including a 9-9 GLVC mark and opens GLVC Tournament play on Sunday as the No. 8 seed and will host No. 9 seed Bellarmine at 1 p.m. The Tritons defeated the Knights, 80-59, on February 14 in St. Louis.

Tierra Snow. Three minutes later, junior
Logan Sims put back an offensive rebound for UMSL's first lead of the game at 54-53 with 5:49 to play. A Snow layup at the 4:01 mark put the Tritons ahead 58-56, but six straight points by Maryville gave the Saints a 62-58 lead it would not relinquish.
Junior
Amber Daly's layup with 44 seconds on the clock made it a 63-62 game and McGovern blocked Ali Ringering's shot on the ensuing possession, but missed a layup on the Tritons end for the go-ahead bucket. Ringering then sealed the game with four free throws in the final five seconds.
Daly led the Tritons with 14 points, six assists and seven rebounds, while Snow also finished with 14 points and grabbed six rebounds. Lawrence added 12 points, while McGovern chipped in eight points, nine rebounds, five assists and three steals.
UMSL shot 32.9 percent, including 45.2 percent in the second half, while Maryville connected at a 44.9 percent clip.
