ST. LOUIS, MO. - After enduring a seven hour rain delay and being suspended overnight, the No. 1ranked and top-seeded University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team was finally able to complete its NCAA Midwest Regional game against No. 17 ranked and fifth-seeded Southern Indiana on Sunday morning, coming out on top with a final score of 4-0.

With the win, the Tritons advance to the regional final against an opponent yet to be determined. Game time for that contest is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. today.

UMSL and USI got two innings of play in yesterday at the scheduled start time of 11 a.m., but were called off the field at 11:41 a.m. due to persistent rain with the Tritons ahead 3-0. The game resumed this morning at 10 a.m.

UMSL recorded just three hits, but drew eight walks, three of which were issued to senior
Brianna Butler. Senior
Hannah Wessels added two walks, scoring both times she was put on the base paths.

An RBI hit-by-pitch issued to senior
Madison Zbaraschuk gave UMSL a run in the first inning, while sophomore
Alex Stupek used a two-run double in the second inning to extend the advantage.

The Tritons crossed the plate again in the fifth inning on sophomore
Sara Kern's RBI single.

Hannah Perryman tossed the complete game three-hit shutout, striking out 12. She improves to 28-3 in the circle with her 16
th shutout of the season.
UMSL is now 46-6 on the season.
