First Half Flurry Powers Women's Soccer to 4-0 Win

Box Score ST. LOUIS, MO. – Freshman McKayla Harder scored two goals to help the University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team a 4-0 victory over Saint Joseph's on Friday evening as the Tritons picked up their first Great Lakes Valley Conference win.
 
All four goals were scored in the opening 45 minutes of play as UMSL improves to 2-1-1 overall, including 1-1-1 in the GLVC. Saint Joseph's slips to 1-4-1 and 1-2 in the league.
 
The Tritons wasted no time getting on the board when senior Kali Thomas netted her first goal of the season at the 4:07 mark, putting the ball into the upper right corner from mid-box off the cross from senior Hunter Wagoner, who received the ball from senior Mary Hoffmann.
 
The Tritons later tallied three goals in a span of eight minutes to take a 4-0 lead into halftime. Harder picked up the ball off a deflection in the 33rd minute with the assist to junior Taylor Tosovsky and found the back of the net again in the 40th minute, beating Pumas keeper Melissa Kuhar one-one-one after taking the long pass from freshman Lauren Lottmann.
 
Sophomore Brooke Blasingame rounded out the first half scoring in the 41st minute with Tosovsky picking up her second assist of the contest.
 
UMSL outshot the Pumas, 24-5, including 9-3 in shots on goal and in corner kicks, 9-1. Wagoner took a team-high five shots, while Harder took three, placing three on target. Delgado also attempted three shots with one landing on goal.
 
Senior Megan Ohm improved to 2-1-1 in goal, playing 55:24, while making two saves. McKenzie DeRouen played the final 34:36 in goal, recording her first save of the season.
 
UMSL concludes a three-game homestand on Sunday, hosting Indianapolis at 12 p.m.
