ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team celebrated Senior Day on Sunday with a 2-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over visiting Quincy.
The Tritons scored both goals in the first half en route to improving to 10-3-1 both overall and in league play. Quincy dips to 6-8-2 and 6-7-1 in the conference.
Prior to the contest, seniors
Miriam Taylor, Taylor Tosovsky, Kayla Delgado, Miranda Buettner, Kirsten Crabtree and
Amber Daly were all honored.
It was then Crabtree who scored the game's first goal with her first tally of the year in the sixth minute as she shot from 30 yards out from the top after getting around a Hawks defender.
Sophomore
McKayla Harder made it a 2-0 lead in the 22
nd minute when senior
Miriam Taylor found her cutting through the box. Junior
Baylee Williams was also credited with an assist on the play as she started the offensive run with a pass to Taylor from the midfield to the left side.
UMSL outshot Quincy, 16-7, including 7-4 in shots on goal. Crabtreee finished with three shots, while freshman
Ali Jaeger also had three shots off the bench with two landing on goal.
Freshman
Emily Rish played all 90 minutes in goal, recording four saves while notching her second straight and third overall shutout.
UMSL will close out the regular season at home on Wednesday, hosting Maryville at 6 p.m.
