SPRINGFIELD, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team ran its win streak to five matches on Saturday as the Tritons picked up a 14-25, 25-22, 25-20, 26-24 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory at Drury in the regular season finale.
The Tritons, who begin GLVC Tournament play next Friday at a time and against an opponent yet to be determined, end the regular season with an 18-11 record, marking the program's most wins since the 2011 team went 19-10. UMSL also finishes GLVC play with a 12-6 mark.
The victory also marked career win number 99 for head coach
Ryan Young, with all those coming at UMSL.
Drury ends its regular season at 20-11, 11-7 in the league.
Match Highlights
- The Tritons started out slow, recording just eight kills in the opening fame, while Drury tallied 14 kills and hit .444.
- UMSL raced out to a 6-0 start in the second set and later scored another six unanswered to push the lead to 16-6. The Tritons recorded 13 kills, including four from freshman
Kylie Rudsinski.
- UMSL followed up its second set quick start with another one in the third frame, scoring the first seven points, which included two kills each from senior
Lexi Rogers and freshman
Morgan Childers. Senior
Gaylnn Jones had 10 digs in that set.
- A 5-0 run in the fourth set helped the Tritons to a 9-5 lead and after a Rogers kill made it 21-16, Drury scored seven straight to take a 23-21 lead. A Childers error and a Drury error knotted it at 23-23 before the Panthers notched set point at 24-23, but two straight errors by the hosts gave UMSL match point with Rudsinski ending it. Rudsinski and Childers had five kills each in the set, combining for 10 of UMSL's 17.
Inside the Box Score
- Childers and Rudsinski each tallied a match-high 13 kills, while Childers also recorded two service aces.
- Jones recorded 21 digs and nine kills, while junior
Danielle Waedekin also recorded 21 digs to go with 12 assists for her first double-double.

Madyson Abeyta notched her eighth double-double of the year with 18 assists and 13 digs, while freshman
Kendall Buchman recorded her fifth double-double, including her third in the last four matches with 17 assists and 10 digs.
- UMSL hit .137, while Drury hit .159 and held an 8-4 blocking advantage. The Panthers were led by Brooke Antenen's triple-double of 26 assists, 14 digs and 12 kills.
