ST. LOUIS, MO. – Junior
Jordan Fletcher knocked in 9-of-10 field goals en route to scoring 24 points as the University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball team defeated Puerto Rico-Mayaguez, 66-49, on Tuesday afternoon in the Tritons' home opener.

Laura Szorenyi each added 10 points off the bench as UMSL improves to 3-1.
The Tritons shot an even 40 percent from the field and owned a 33-30 rebounding advantage with senior
Shea O'Brien pulling down eight rebounds.
UMSL led 16-9 after the first quarter and owned a 26-22 halftime lead after the Janes closed the second quarter on a 7-1 run.
Junior
Sammie Sproul opened the second half with a three-pointer to extend the Tritons' lead to 29-22, but UPR-Mayaguez followed with six unanswered to pull within 29-28. Szorenyi then knocked in a three-pointer to ignite a 12-0 run for a 41-28 advantage with 2:57 on the clock. UMSL took a 44-35 lead into the final 10 minute frame.
The Tritons finished with 18 assists on 22 field goals as senior
Robneisha Lee dished out a team-high four assists.
UMSL returns to action Saturday, hosting Arkansas Tech at 1 p.m.
