ST. LOUIS, MO. – Senior
Hunter Reine tallied his third double-double of the year with 17 points and 14 rebounds to help the University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball team to a 78-65 win over Trevecca Nazarene on Thursday night.
Reine knocked down 8-of-9 field goals, making his first eight, as the Tritons shot 54.7 percent from the field.
UMSL improves to 6-4 overall with the win, while Trevecca Nazarene slips to 2-7 overall, including 2-3 against GLVC teams. The two teams will meet again in 11 days as the Tritons make the return trip to Nashville, Tenn., December 19.
Junior
Elijah Watson added 13 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals, while junior
Steven Davis scored 14 points on four three-pointers and added five rebounds and three assists. Senior
Alex Majewski also reached double figures with 13 points, 11 coming in the first half.
The Tritons never trailed in the contest and owned a 47-37 halftime lead.
UMSL limited Trevecca to 38.1 percent shooting and owned a 40-29 rebounding advantage.
Junior
Drew Skaggs blocked a career-high four shots and added three assists to help the Tritons to 20 assists on 29 field goals.
UMSL returns to the court on Saturday, traveling to Maryville in a GLVC contest at 3 p.m.
