LOUISVILLE, KY. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball team was unable to take advantage of 28 Bellarmine turnovers on Thursday night, falling to the host Knights, 68-47, in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.
The Tritons were limited to 32.1 percent shooting and were outrebounded, 42-26.

Amber Daly and redshirt sophomore
Jordan Fletcher, who scored 12 points each, UMSL falls to 9-13 overall, including 4-10 in the GLVC, while Bellarmine improves to 17-3 and 11-3 in the league.
The Tritons were only able to score 16 points off the Knights miscues, while committing 23 turnovers, which the home team turned into 23 points on the other end. UMSL recorded a season second-best 15 steals, including five from Daly.
The Tritons netted three of their first four field goals for a quick 6-0 start, while Bellarmine didn't get on the board until the 6:36 mark, connecting on the first of four first quarter three-pointers. The Knights took an 18-11 lead after 10 minutes played and posted a 30-21 halftime lead after an opening half that saw both teams combine for 25 turnovers, including six in the final minute.
Bellarmine then opened the second half with an 11-4 scoring advantage and built the lead to 60-37 at the end of the third quarter.
The Knights shot 47.8 percent and despite the four first quarter three-pointers, only made one more the remainder of the contest.

Kelly Kunkel recorded four rebounds, three steals and two assists.
UMSL is back on the court Saturday at Southern Indiana.
