SPRINGFIELD, MO. – After being limited to just one hit through seven innings, the University of Missouri-St. Louis baseball team tallied six in the eighth inning to rally back for a 5-3 win at Drury on Sunday in the season finale.
The Tritons, which took three of four games in the series from the Panthers, wrap up the 2016 season campaign with a 29-21 record, including an 11-17 Great Lakes Valley Conference mark.
UMSL scored its first run in the first inning for the fourth straight game, doing so without a hit, as three walks led to senior
JonMichael Weaver drawing an RBI hit by pitch.
Drury tied it up in the third and went ahead 2-1 in the sixth before the Tritons' eighth inning surge with RBI singles from senior

Austin Simokaitis retired three straight to close out the game, notching his 16
th save of the year to tie the program's single season record set by Kyle Renaud in 2013.

Kevin Smith recorded the win on the mound to finish the year 5-3. He allowed three runs on eight hits, while striking out three and walking one.
Busekrus recorded two hits and scored two runs in his final collegiate game.
