ROMEOVILLE, ILL. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team saw a six-match win streak snapped at No. 15 ranked Lewis on Friday night in Great Lakes Valley Conference play. The host Flyers won by set scores of 25-16, 19-25, 25-12, 25-13.
UMSL slips to 7-3 overall, including 2-1 in the GLVC, while Lewis moves to 8-3 and 3-0 in the league.
Match Highlights
-The Tritons hit -.043 in the opening set loss, recording just four kills, while Lewis hit .250 behind 14 kills.
-A string of four unanswered points in the second set helped the Tritons to a 19-17 lead, forcing a Lewis timeout, while a block from senior
Lexi Rogers and a service ace from
Madyson Abeyta extended the advantage to 23-18. Rogers had four kills in five swing attempts in that set.
-UMSL was limited to five kills in the third set, while in the fourth set, Lewis hit .536, recording 15 kills in 28 attempts with no errors.
