ROMEOVILLE, ILL. – Junior Shawnta Johnson knocked down a game-tying three-pointer from the top of the key with 6.4 seconds to play, but host Lewis scored the game-winner three seconds later as the No. 19 ranked Flyers avoided an upset with a 70-68 win over the visiting University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball team Thursday night in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.

Lewis' Jessica Kelliher got the ball on the left block, slid under the basket and laid it up and in on the right side to give her team the victory.

How it Happened

A 12-2 start to the third quarter by the Flyers gave Lewis its biggest lead of the game at 45-34 at the 6:11 mark, but the Tritons end the stanza on a 21-8 run for a 55-53 lead heading into the final 10 minutes.  Szoreyni scored 11 of her points during that run.

A jumper by junior Sammie Sproul tied it at 60-60 with 5:12 left in the game before five unanswered by the Flyers. A pair of free throws by Lewis' Jamie Johnson with 37 seconds remaining gave Lewis a 68-65 lead.

Johnson's game-tying three came after an sideline inbounds play in which Fletcher found Johnson at the top of the key and banked it in.
