KANSAS CITY, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball team used a late surge to pull within single digits after trailing by 22 points on Thursday night, but lost a 77-68 Great Lakes Valley Conference road game at Rockhurst.
The Tritons slip to 9-11 overall, including 3-7 in the GLVC, while the Hawks improve to 11-7 and 5-5 in the league. Rockhurst also boosted its home record to 10-2 this season.

-UMSL shot 42.9 percent and made seven three-pointers, while Rockhurst connected at a 43.9 percent clip, draining 12 three-pointers, and held a 39-32 rebounding advantage.
How it Happened
Davis connected on back-to-back three-pointers for an early 11-10 lead, but Rockhurst answered with an 8-0 run. The Hawks netted two three-pointers during that stretch and connected on six in the first half to help take a 36-22 halftime lead. Rockhurst was also aided by a 23-13 rebounding advantage, while the Tritons shot just 30.4 percent.
The Hawks used a 10-4 start to the second half to push the lead to 46-26 at the 16:45 mark. Rockhurst led by as many as 22 and after they netted a three-pointer with 11:05 to go for a 61-40 advantage, UMSL slowly chipped away and got within seven three times in the final 1:22. However, the Hawks went 5-of-6 at the free throw line in the last 34 seconds to secure the win.
