ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball team saw visiting Indianapolis end the game on a 14-4 run en route to stealing a 64-57 win Thursday night in the Tritons' Great Lakes Valley Conference home opener.
UMSL scored just one point in the final four minutes and knocked down its last field goal with 7:24 to play – a layup by senior
Hunter Reine for a 53-45 lead. But from there, the Tritons missed eight shots and turned the ball over four times, including on three straight possessions.
UMSL slips to 8-6 overall, including 2-2 in the GLVC, while UIndy improves to 4-7 and 1-2 in the league.
A 9-3 run to close out the first half helped the Tritons to a 32-27 halftime lead, with freshman
Kobe Wands scoring five of those points off the bench. UMSL also helped itself at the free throw line, sinking 12-of-13 attempts, while UIndy was 2-of-4.

D.J. White two minutes into the second half gave the Tritons their largest lead at 38-39.

Elijah Watson led the offense with 16 points, going 10-of-15 at the free throw line, and added six rebounds. White finished with eight points and nine rebounds, while senior
Joseph English also tallied eight points.
UMSL shot 31.5 percent, including just 28.6 percent in the second half, and held a 40-37 rebounding advantage, including a 13-8 edge on the offensive end.
The Greyhounds, led by Ajay Lawton's 21 points off the bench, shot 40.4 percent.
UMSL is back in action on Saturday, hosting Saint Joseph's at 3 p.m.
