Men's Basketball Cruises Past Central Christian

ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball team ran its win streak to three games with a 110-44 victory over Central Christian College of the Bible on Saturday.
 
Five players scored in double figures, while all 12 players got in the scoring column. Junior Johnathan Matthews led UMSL with a game-high 18 points.

How it Happened
UMSL owned a 63-22 lead at halftime. The Tritons connected on 10 three-pointers in the first half, including five during a 24-0 run that stretched the lead to 44-14 with 5:22 on the clock.
 
Numbers of Note
- Freshman Jose Grubbs recorded a season-high in points for the second straight game, finishing with 15 to go with six rebounds and five steals. UMSL collected a season-high 14 steals and scored 21 points on 17 Central Christian turnovers.
- Senior Steven Davis added 14 points, knocking down four three-pointers, while senior Elijah Watson followed with 112 points, six rebounds and four assists.
- Junior Davious Webster chipped in 11 points.
- UMSL finished the game shooting 50.7 percent, while limiting Central Christian to 26.8 percent shooting.
- The Tritons pulled down a season-high 60 rebounds, including 20 on the offensive end, outscoring the Saints, 22-2 on second chance points.
- Senior D.J. White and junior Eric Dust had seven rebounds each.
- Freshman Shane Wissink dished out five assists.
 
Outside the Boxscore
- UMSL improved to 4-0 at home this season.
- UMSL scored 100 points for the 76th time in program history, including the 72nd time at home.
