BENTONVILLE, ARK. – The No. 22 ranked University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team opened the final day of the UAM DII Challenge with a 2-0 win over No. 11 Arkansas Tech and closed out play with a 12-9 win over Arkansas-Monticello.
UMSL finishes the weekend with a 3-1 record and improves to 6-4 overall.

How it Happened
-UMSL got its first base runner in the top of the fifth when sophomore
Serena Olson drew a walk to break up the perfect game by Jalissa Gum.
-Freshman
Reice Brown broke up the no-hitter with a leadoff single through the right side in the top of the sixth. The hit was the first of four by the Tritons in the fame that led to two runs with junior
Rachel Matthies and senior
Alex Stupek each recording an RBI.
-The Golden Suns (5-2) led off the bottom of the fourth with a double and followed with a walk, but sophomore
Carly Kingery struck out the side to end the threat.
KEY STATS
-Kingery tossed the complete game shutout, allowing just two hits and only walking two. She also fanned a season-high nine.
-Sophomore
Reagan Osborn also had one of four hits for the Tritons.
Game 2: #22 UMSL 12, Arkansas-Monticello 9
How it Happened
-UMSL used a season-high 17 hits to score 12 runs, plating runs in five of seven innings. The Tritons put four runs on the board in the first inning on an RBI single from Matthies, a two-run double from Olson and an RBI triple from junior
Jennah Perryman.
-After UMSL built a 7-3 lead through four innings, the Blossoms tied it up in the fifth with a grand slam.
-Matthies struck again in the sixth with another RBI single, while freshman
Annie Kroeger also drove in two runs in that frame to make it10-7.
-UAM got two runs back in the bottom of the sixth, but insurance runs on RBI doubles from senior
Ryan Logan and Matthies accounted for the final score.
KEY STATS
-Of UMSL's 17 hits, 10 were for extra base.
-Matthies finished with four hits and four RBIs and scored two runs, while Olson added three hits, including two doubles, and recorded RBIs.
-Osborn also finished with three hits, two of which were doubles, and scored three runs.
-Kroeger tallied two hits and three RBIs.
-Kingery picked up her second win of the day, tossing three innings in relief. She allowed two runs on two hits, while striking out five.

UMSL returns to Bentonville, Ark., next Friday-Sunday for the UAM 8-State Classic. The Tritons will play six games, beginning Friday at 3 p.m. against Northeastern Oklahoma.
