BOLIVAR, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis baseball team lost a 16-10 decision at Southwest Baptist on Tuesday in a game that featured a combined 33 hits.
The host Bearcats tallied 19 of those, including five home runs, while the Tritons finished with 14 hits and delivered two long balls of their own.
UMSL falls to 0-3, while Southwest Baptist improves to 9-3.
By the Numbers

Cooper Vinz went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double and a home run and finished with four RBI.

How it Happened
-A two-out sac fly from senior
Nick Ulrey, followed by an RBI double from Vinz gave UMSL a 2-0 lead in the top of the first before the home team plated five runs, including two on home runs in the bottom of the frame for a 5-2 lead.
-UMSL used a five-hit second inning to knot the score at 5-5, including an RBI double from Morsch and an RBI single from Hudson.
-Vinz drove in his second run in the fourth with a two-out single to trim the deficit to 8-6.
-After eight unanswered runs by the Bearcats, junior
Chris Mathes delivered UMSL's first home run of the year with a solo shot, while Vinz followed with a two-run homer later in the inning to bring the Tritons within 16-10.
