ST. LOUIS, MO. – Senior
Robneisha Lee poured in a career-high 26 points to help the University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball team upset No. 20 ranked Southern Indiana Thursday night in Great Lakes Valley Conference action with a score of 65-59.
Lee scored six of her points at the free-throw line in the final 40 seconds to help preserve the win, which marked the third straight for the Tritons. UMSL improves to 12-10 overall, including 7-7 in the GLVC, while the Screaming Eagles, which entered the game as the GLVC East Division leader on a six-game win streak, falls to 20-4 overall, including 12-2 in the league.
UMSL, playing the first of five home games to close out the regular season, also snapped a 13-game losing streak to the Screaming Eagles and improved to 5-3 in home games, including 4-1 in GLVC home games, with its fourth straight victory.
Numbers of Note
-Lee finished the night 10-of-11 at the charity stripe to help UMSL to a 21-of-25 effort. She also pulled down nine rebounds as the Tritons held a 35-33 advantage in that category.

Jordan Fletcher, playing on her birthday, added 13 points and six rebounds, while sophomore
Laura Szorenyi followed with 12 points.
-UMSL shot 41.7 percent, while Southern Indiana shot 42.4 percent.
-The Tritons overcame 19 turnovers, 14 of which came in the second half.
-The 59 points scored by Southern Indiana were a season-low. They entered the game averaging 80.5.
How it Happened
UMSL clung to a 33-30 halftime lead as they converted all seven free throw attempts in the first half, while USI was just 1-of-4. Both teams scored 15 points in the first quarter.
Southern Indiana outscored the Tritons, 18-11, in the third quarter to pull ahead, 48-44, heading into the final frame and scored the first five points of the fourth quarter to go on top 55-44 with 7:57 remaining.
The Tritons answered by scoring eight straight to ignite a 15-2 run over the next six minutes and took a 59-57 lead on a layup by Lee with just under two minutes to play. The Screaming Eagles knotted the score at 59-59 with 67 seconds remaining, but it would be the visitors' last score. After Lee made two free throws with 40.1 seconds on the clock, Southern Indiana missed two at the charity stripe on its end and was forced to foul Lee again.
UMSL outscored its guests, 21-4, over the final seven minutes.
