ST. LOUIS, MO. – Senior
Nick Ulrey went 4-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs, but it wasn't enough for the University of Missouri-St. Louis baseball team, which suffered a 5-3 loss to Southern Indiana on Tuesday afternoon in a midweek non-conference contest.
Ulrey drove in both runs on a single in the fifth inning, in which the Tritons scored all three of their runs. Senior
Tanner Hudson drew a no outs, bases loaded RBI hit-by-pitch to bring the first run across the plate.
Southern Indiana scored three runs on four hits in the first inning and made it 4-0 in the top of the fifth before UMSL got on the board in the bottom of the frame. The Screaming Eagles then added an insurance run in the sixth innings, while UMSL threatened in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings with runners on base, but hit into double plays in each of those frames.
UMSL slips to 10-19, while Southern Indiana is now 17-14.
The Screaming Eagles held a narrow 10-9 advantage in hits in a game that saw both teams make five errors. USI also stranded 13 runners, while UMSL left nine on base.

Jake Beckwith added two hits and also drew a walk, while redshirt freshman
Dylan Hoelscher, making his first collegiate start, drew two walks.

Andrew Bicklein suffered the loss on the mound despite equaling a season-high six strikeouts in five innings.
UMSL returns to the field on Friday and Saturday, traveling to Rockhurst in a four-game GLVC series.
