ST. LOUIS, MO. – A three-run home run from sophomore
Serena Olson helped the No. 25 ranked University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team to a 4-2 win over Truman State Friday evening in an elimination game of the NCAA Midwest Regional.
The top-seeded Tritons (41-14) move on to face No. 4 seed Wayne State, who no-hit UMSL in the day's first game, tomorrow at Noon with an if necessary game to follow. The Tritons need to defeat the Warriors twice in order to advance to next weekend's Super Regional. No. 5 seed Truman State ends its season with a 40-23 record.
Olson's round tripper was her 16
th of the season, tying the second most in the program's single season history, and came after Bulldogs starter Alyssa Hadjuk walked two before being relieved by ace Lauren Dale.

Truman rallied in the seventh, leading off with a home run before plating another run on one out. The Bulldogs put the tying run on first with the go-ahead run at the plate, but sophomore
Carly Kingery induced a ground out to end the threat.
Kingery and the defense behind her helped strand 12 Truman State runners, including the bases loaded twice. The Bulldogs had a base runner in all but one inning.
Both teams finished with seven hits with Matthies tallying two for UMSL.
