ST. LOUIS, MO. – Visiting Southern Indiana spoiled the home opener for the University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team on Friday night, posting a 3-0 victory in what was also the Great Lakes Valley Conference opener for both teams.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Screaming Eagles scored twice in the first half, tallying goals in the 21
st and 36
th minutes as they owned a 6-1 advantage in shots in the opening 45 minutes.
- USI added an insurance goal in the 69
th minute on a free kick from 35 yards out.
- UMSL's best scoring chance came with under 10 minutes to play on a set piece when sophomore
Sarah Lyon's free kick from 30 yards out found senior
Emily Mosier in the box. Mosier headed it towards the goal, but it went just right of the post.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Lyon finished with two shots on goal.
- Southern Indiana finished with 10 shots, including five on goal, while UMSL recorded seven shots, including three on goal.
