SPRINGFIELD, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball rallied from a two-set deficit at No. 12 ranked Drury on Friday night to force a decisive fifth set, but came up short in the upset bid in a 3-2 (25-15, 25-21, 23-25, 24-26, 15-13) loss.
Despite the loss, junior
Kylie Rudsinski recorded a career-high 22 kills, while fellow junior
Selena Nolte added 20 kills.

How It Happened
- SET 2: A kill from Nolte in the second set made it 20-20, but Drury finished the frame by outscoring the Tritons 5-1. UMSL had taken a 7-6 lead on a Panthers error and never trailed until the hosts scored three straight for a 20-19 advantage.
- SET 3: UMSL hit .234 in the third set after a combined .094 effort in the first two sets. Rudsinski finished with seven kills in the third frame, while UMSL overcame an early five-point (13-8) deficit and rallied back from being down 19-15.
- SET 4: Drury outblocked UMSL, 6-4, but the Tritons still recorded 18 kills to the Panthers' 12. Drury had match point at 24-23, but UMSL scored three unanswered, including kills from Nolte and Hannewald.
- SET 5: Drury jumped out to a 4-0 lead and built a 10-4 advantage before UMSL pulled within 11-9 forcing a timeout. The Tritons got within one point three times, including 14-13.
Statistically Speaking
- UMSL hit .148 and had 60 kills, while Drury connected at a .212 clip with 65 kills.
- Both of the Tritons' setters had double-doubles, including freshman Cara Ferchen (24 assists, 16 digs) and sophomore Payton Kennelly (22 assists, 14 digs).
- Freshman Megan Woll finished with 23 digs.
- Drury held a 17-13 advantage in blocks. Rudsinski, senior Alex Miner and junior Amanda Vollmer had four blocks each.
