ST. CHARLES, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball team couldn't maintain its fast start on Wednesday night as the Tritons lost an 82-66 decision at Lindenwood.
UMSL led by 10 midway through the first quarter, but saw the host Lions rally for a lead early in the second quarter that they would not relinquish.
Despite the loss, senior
Arielle Jackson scored a career-high 27 points, while notching her eighth career 20-point outing. She was 10-of-17, including 4-of-8 from three-point range.

How it Happened
UMSL owned a 26-21 lead after the first quarter in which they made five three-pointers. Jackson had 12 points in that frame. The Tritons took their largest lead at 20-10 midway through on a three-ball from freshman
McKenzie Lathrom.
The Lions opened the second quarter with nine unanswered points in the first three minute to take a 30-26 advantage, while the Tritons went 0-of-3 from the field and committed three turnovers. A 13-6 run later gave Lindenwood its largest lead of the half at 43-36, while redshirt junior
Laura Szorenyi netted a bucket at the buzzer to account for the halftime score of 43-38.
Jackson and Szorenyi combined for 18 of UMSL's 20 third quarter points, while Lindenwood pushed the lead into double figures for the first time with 3:10 on the clock at 61-51 before taking a 66-58 lead into the final 10 minutes.
