ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball team closed out its non-conference slate on Saturday with a 93-56 victory over Principia College.
The Tritons will now turn their attention to the remainder of the GLVC schedule. UMSL resumes league play next Thursday with a 1-1 mark.
The Tritons also finish with a 9-1 record in non-conference games, marking the program's most non-league wins since joining a conference (MIAA in 1981-82). The last time UMSL had just one non-conference loss was 2005-06 when that team went 7-1 outside of league games.

How it Happened
UMSL shot 66.7 percent in the opening 20 minutes en route to a 53-27 halftime lead and finished the contest shooting 56.5 percent, which included the same mark from three-point range (13-of-23).
The Tritons took advantage of 21 Panther turnovers, converting the miscues into 28 points on their offensive end. Principia shot 42 percent.

- Junior Josh Carter scored a career-high 20 points, knocking down 9-of-10 field goals. His 90 percent shooting percentage ranks second on the single game charts (min. of 10 attempts). Carter also added three assists and three steals.
- Sophomore Jose Grubbs added a career-high 16 points in his first start of the season, making 4-of-5 three-pointers, while sophomore Anthony Hughes also scored 16 points, knocking down four three0-pointers, while also tallying five rebounds, four assists and two steals.
- Senior Johnathan Matthews and junior Ronnie Carson each tossed in 11 points.
- Sophomore Shane Wissink dished out seven assists.
