ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball team saw its season come to an end on Saturday night with a 79-70 loss at Maryville.

Elijah Watson (25) and
Steven Davis (22) combined for 47 points in their final collegiate games. Watson also dished out four assists, setting a new single season record with 144 assists, bettering the previous mark of 140 by Jason Black (2008-09).

How it Happened
Maryville used a 13-5 run over a four minute span early in the first half to turn a 9-6 deficit into a 19-14 advantage at the 11:01 mark. UMSL scored seven straight late to go back on top at 33-32 before a pair of Maryville free throws gave the home team a 34-33 lead at the half.
Back-to-back three-pointers by Davis in the opening minutes of the second half gave the Tritons a 39-36 lead before Maryville followed with 10 unanswered for a 46-39 advantage with UMSL missing all four shots during that stretch. The Tritons then used a 13-4 run with Davis and Watson scoring six points each to retake the lead, 52-50, but Maryvile answered right back with another 10 straight.
Numbers of Note
- Davis finished 6-of-9 from three-point range, giving him 77 long balls this season, which ties the fourth most in a single season.

Jose Grubbs also reached double figures with 10 points.
- UMSL shot 47.5 percent, while Maryville connected at a 46.9 percent clip and received a game-high 31 points from Nolan Berry.
- Berry also pulled down 13 rebounds to help the Saints to a 37-27 advantage in that category.
