ST. LOUIS, MO. – For just the third time in program history, the University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball team has reached the 20-win plateau. This year's squad accomplished the feat with a 70-64 victory at Maryville on Saturday evening in the regular season finale.
UMSL also ran its win streak to 13 games, second longest in program history, and one shy of the record. Additionally, sixth-year head coach
Katie Vaughn recorded her 97
th win at UMSL, tying Mike Larson (1981-89) for the most.
The Tritons now turn their attention to the GLVC Tournament, which will be held next Thursday-Sunday on the campus of SIUE in Edwardsville, Ill. UMSL, the No. 4 seed in the field, will take on No. 5 seed Bellarmine on Thursday night at 8:30 p.m.

How it Happened
UMSL owned a 23-9 lead after the first quarter, shooting 63.6 percent, but were forced to fend off the Saints in the second half. Maryville pulled within 38-28 at the half, while UMSL also took a 10-point lead into the fourth quarter at 53-43.
A late 10-4 run in the fourth quarter by the Saints closed the gap to 59-55 with 4:17 on the clock before within three at 67-64 with 16 seconds to play. However, UMSL made 3-of-4 free throws to help seal the game.
The Tritons scored their final 11 points at the free throw line over the final 4:10.

Arielle Jackson scored a career-high 25 points, while senior
Jordan Fletcher added 16 points and 10 rebounds.
- Fletcher also recorded one block for the 133rd of her career, which ties Jennifer Martin (2005-07) for the program record.
- Freshman
Alex LaPorta followed with 12 points and seven rebounds.
- The Tritons shot just 38.2 percent from the field, but finished 23-of-31 (74.2 percent) at the free-throw line.
- UMSL held a 42-36 rebounding advantage, including a 16-12 edge on the offensive end.
- The Tritons' 14 GLVC wins are a program-best
