Tritons Swept by Saints in Softball Twinbill

ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team suffered a pair of non-conference losses at Maryville on Tuesday. The host Saints won by scores of 8-3 and 1-0.

How It Happened
Maryville broke open the game with six singles in the fourth inning, scoring four runs to take a 7-3 lead.
 
The Tritons countered on the Saints' first three runs, knotting the score at 2-2 in the second when sophomore Andee Tiffee scored on a wild pitch before junior Lizzy Miller drove in a run with an RBI single.
 
In the top of the fourth, junior Reagan Osborn used a sac fly to send junior Serena Olson home to make it 3-3.
 
Inside the Box Score
- The Tritons were out-hit, 14-10. Miller finished 3-for-3 at the plate, while Olson went 2-for-3 and scored two runs. Tiffee also tallied two hits.
- Sophomore CoCo Caraway suffered the loss with five runs scoring on eight hits in three innings of relief.

How It Happened
Maryville broke the scoreless game in the sixth inning with a one-out RBI fielder's choice following a triple.
 
UMSL was limited to two hits – singles by senior Jennah Perryman and junior Chelsea Martinez.
 
The Saints finished with four hits. Tiffee was tagged with the loss in two innings of work.
