SPRINGFIELD, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis baseball team scored the final two runs of the second game of a doubleheader on Sunday en route to a 5-4 win in the finale of a four-game Great Lakes Valley Conference series at Drury. The Panthers won the opener, 9-2.
UMSL and Drury tied the league-opening series and two games apiece.

Drury recorded 12 hits to UMSL's nine and scored three runs each in the third and fifth innings.

Jarrett O'Brien helped the Tritons to their first run in the fourth inning, cutting the deficit to 4-1.

Brian Seymour recorded his second hit of the game in the seventh with an RBI triple that scored redshirt sophomore

Jacob Monti drove in pinch runner
John Hilpert for the game-winning run in the top of the ninth to secure the comeback. Hilpert ran for Davis, who got on base with a one-out triple.
A two-out bases loaded RBI walk to senior
Jake Morsch in the eighth tied the game at 4-4.

Alex Oltmann earned the win in four and one-thirds scoreless innings of relief work after senior
Jim Brandt was tagged for four runs on five hits in the start. All four Drury runs came in the fourth inning.
The Tritons jumped out to a 3-0 lead, scoring twice in the third inning, including one on Seymour's RBI single and then on a wild pitch. Freshman
Xavier Collier drove in Monti in the fourth with an RBI single.
Monti, Morsch and Collier all had two hits each, while Morsch also drew two walks.
Series Numbers: Davis batted a team-high .357, recording five hits, while Seymour also tallied five hits, including two triples… Oltmann went 1-0 with a save, tossing 6.2 scoreless innings.
Up Next: UMSL will host Illinois Springfield in a single nonconference game on Wednesday at 3 p.m. before welcoming William Jewell on Friday and Saturday in a four-game GLVC series.
