SPRINGFIELD, ILL. – The No. 25 ranked University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team got back in the win column on Saturday with a 3-2 win at Illinois Springfield. The Tritons fended off the Prairie Stars 25-19, 25-20, 19-25, 19-25, 15-13 despite UIS posting a season-high 20 blocks.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two teams combined to hit just .098 in the opening set, which saw a pair of long runs, including a 10-1 run by the hosts to turn a 16-8 deficit into an 18-17 advantage. The Tritons then ended the frame with an 8-2 run, which included six straight to seal it.
- After holding UIS to .116 in the first two sets, the Prairie Stars rallied back to tie the match by hitting .338 in the next two.
- UMSL never trailed in the fifth set, although UIS erased a 12-9 deficit to it at 12-12 and 13-13.
- The Tritons hit .178 to the Prairie Stars' .217 and trailed in kills (66-60), but served up eight aces to their hosts three.
