ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team dropped a hard fought battle to No. 11 Rockhurst on Saturday afternoon in a match that went the distance, including extra points in the fifth set. The visiting Hawks won by set scores of 23-25, 25-20, 17-25, 25-22, 19-17, extending their win streak to nine matches.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UMSL prevailed in the opening set, which saw 17 ties and seven lead changes. The Tritons were aided by three service aces.
- Rockhurst raced out to a 6-0 advantage in the second set and built a 23-11 advantage before nine straight points by UMSL pulled them within 23-20.
- The Tritons hit .344 in the third set win and got six kills from senior
Selena Nolte, while junior
Kaileen Herman had a pair of aces.
- UMSL hit just .107 in the fourth set despite both teams having 15 kills, but the Hawks held a 4-2 advantage in kills.
- The fifth set saw six set points until Rockhurst was able to score the final two points.
- UMSL hit .217 and recorded 72 kills, while the Hawks hit .256, including .308 in the fifth set, behind 76 kills.
- Rockhurst held a 13-9 advantage in blocks, while UMSL had a 7-2 edge in service aces.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Senior
Selena Nolte, who leads the GLVC in kills per set, recorded a match-high 24, while hitting at a .308 clip and tallying three blocks.
- Sophomore
Charlotte Richards added a career-high 23 kills and 16 digs.
- Junior
Kaileen Herman dished out 58 assists and added 21 digs.
- Sophomore
Megan Woll recorded 24 digs.
- Freshman
Raquel Kessler chipped in 11 kills and three blocks.
