ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball team cruised to an 82-44 victory over William Woods on Saturday in the Tritons' home opener. UMSL shot 47.9 percent from the field and forced 22 turnovers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UMSL owned a 43-25 lead at the break behind 8-of-19 shooting from three-point range.
The Tritons, who outscored the Owls, 39-19, in the second half, limited their opponents to 35.7 percent shooting, including just 28 percent over the final 20 minutes.
UMSL finished the game with a 28-0 advantage in points off turnovers and committed just six themselves, while also owning a 40-30 edge in rebounding.

- Junior Yaakema Rose Jr. scored a game-high 20 points and added three assists.
- Junior Jose Grubbs finished with 15 points and six rebounds.
- Redshirt senior Jason Towery tallied 11 points, netting three three-pointers.
- Redshirt junior Kenny Berry finished 3-for-3, including 2-for-2 from long range to score eight points.
- Junior Shane Wissink had four assists and four steals.
