OWENSBORO, KY. –The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball team shot just 23.6 percent from the field in a 58-34 loss at undefeated Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Panthers owned a 20-14 lead after the first quarter and opened the second quarter with a 19-0 run, while holding UMSL scoreless in that frame until the 2:58 mark. Kentucky Wesleyan took a 39-16 lead into halftime and held a 49-22 advantage after three quarters.
Despite the loss, the Tritons owned a 36-29 rebounding advantage, including a 15-5 edge on the offensive end.
The Panthers shot 46 percent from the field and also capitalized on 24 UMSL turnovers, scoring 19 points on the other end.

- Redshirt senior Laura Szorenyi scored 12 points and added five rebounds and three assists.
- Junior Alex LaPorta pulled down 10 rebounds and collected three steals.
