Volleyball Draws No. 3 Seed in NCAA Midwest Regional, Will Face No. 6 Seed Michigan Tech

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team is among the 64 schools selected for the NCAA Division II Volleyball Tournament, as announced Monday night by the NCAA.
 
The Tritons received the No. 3 seed in the Midwest Region and will face No. 6 seed Michigan Tech in the first round action on Thursday, December 5 at Noon.
 
The Tritons return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2010 and will be making just the program's fourth postseason trip.
 
Lewis, the top-seed in the Midwest, will serve as host, and meet No. 8 seed Saginaw Valley State in another first round contest, while Hillsdale earned the number two seed and will play seventh-seeded Indianapolis. No. 4 seed Ferris State and No. 5 Rockhurst round out the field.
 
Semifinals of the regional tournament will be held on Friday, December 6, while the championship match is on Saturday, December 7. The regional winner advances to the NCAA DII Championships, along with seven other regional champions. The championships take place December 12-14 at the Auraria Event Center in Denver, Colo.
 
UMSL, ranked No. 22 nationally, is 29-4 overall. They are coming off a runner-up finish at the GLVC Tournament this past weekend, where they lost a 3-2 decision to Rockhurst, while playing in the program's first championship match.
