ST. LOUIS, MO. – Junior
Jose Grubbs recorded career-highs of 28 points and 12 rebounds on Tuesday to lead the University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball team to a 70-64 overtime win over Ohio Dominican in the opening game of the UMSL Thanksgiving Classic.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Ohio Dominican erased a 12-point UMSL lead in the second half to help force overtime. The Tritons took their largest lead of the game at 50-38 with 7:52 to play, but saw the Panthers rally for a 56-54 lead with 1:30 to go.
Ohio Dominican got the first basket of the overtime before UMSL followed with seven straight.
UMSL scored the final six points of the first half to cap an 11-2 run as they took a 29-24 lead into halftime. Grubbs had seven of his 18 first half point during that stretch. The run also helped the Tritons erase a seven-point Ohio Dominican lead as the guests scored 10 unanswered for a 17-10 advantage at the 10:25 mark.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Grubbs made 10-of-16 field goals, including 4-of-7 three-pointers.
- Junior Shane Wissink added a season-high 16 points, making 6-of-10 shots, while also recording three steals and three assists.
- Junior Yaakema Rose Jr. chipped in 10 points, six rebounds and five steals.
- UMSL shot 38.6 percent, while Ohio Dominican connected at a 39.6 percent clip and held a 41-38 rebounding advantage.
