ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball team outscored visiting Lincoln, 40-26, in the second half en route to a 76-59 victory on Wednesday afternoon during the UMSL Thanksgiving Classic.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UMSL clung to a 36-33 lead at the half after building a 31-21 advantage with 2:45 remaining on a three-pointer from senior

In the second half, the Tritons scored 10 unanswered points, including seven straight from junior
Jose Grubbs, to make it a 55-40 lead with 11:27 to play. The Blue Tigers got within 58-51 five minutes later, but Grubbs responded with a three-pointer to ignite an 11-2 run and the Tritons never looked back.
UMSL finished the game shooting 47.2 percent, including 59.1 percent in the second half. The Tritons held a 36-33 rebounding advantage, while Lincoln shot 40 percent. UMSL made 12-of-27 three-pointers, while Lincoln was 10-of-26 from long range.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Grubbs was one of four players in double figures. He scored 10 of his 12 points in the second half.
- Junior Yaakema Rose Jr. scored a game-high 15 points and added six rebounds, four assists and three steals.
- Redshirt senior Jason Towery added 11 points and eight rebounds, while senior Jalen Wilkins-McCoy also scored 11 points and grabbed seven boards.
- Redshirt sophomore Steve Webb dished out eight assists.
