Box Score SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball picked up its ninth straight win on Thursday night with a 64-57 victory over Puerto Rico-Bayamon as the Tritons closed out a two-game trip to the island.
With the win, UMSL improves to 10-1 for the first time in program history.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Tritons, which clung to a 29-26 halftime lead, shot just 36.5 percent from the field, and were 1-of-14 from three-point range, but made 25-of-35 (71.4 percent) free throws to help overcome a season-high 20 turnovers.
UMSL held a 39-32 rebounding advantage, including a 14-8 edge on the offensive end, while UPR-Bayamon shot 40 percent, including 50 percent in the second half.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Redshirt sophomore Steve Webb recorded 13 points, 12 rebounds, six steals and three assists.
- Redshirt sophomore Kellen King added 15 points on 11-of-17 shooting at the charity stripe.
- Senior Jalen Wilkins-McCoy followed with 12 points, five rebounds and three blocks.
