HUNTSVILLE, ALA., February 9, 2019 – The University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team lost both of its games on day two of the Charger Chillout by scores of 9-1 on Saturday, falling to No. 13 Young Harris and Trevecca Nazarene.
No. 13 Young Harris 9, UMSL 1 (5 inn.)
An eight-run fourth inning, which included a grand slam, powered Young Harris to the win and broke the tie after both teams crossed the plate in the first inning.
The Tritons were limited to two hits – both off the bat of freshman
Anna VanGundy. Senior
Reagan Osborn reached base twice, leading the game off with a hit by pitch and later on a walk. Osborn scored on a Mountain Lions errors.
Trevecca Nazarene 9, UMSL 1
The Tritons were one-hit by the Trojans and committed six errors, which led to five unearned runs.
The lone run came on a wild pitch in the fourth with redshirt junior
Morgan Hill scoring after reaching on a walk.
Senior
Lizzy Miller broke up the no-hitter in the bottom of the sixth with a one-out single through the left side.
Trevecca Nazarene recorded 10 hits.
