CLERMONT, FLA. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team posted a 3-0 win over Western Oregon on its second day of competition at The Spring Games on Friday before falling to No. 1 ranked Saint Anselm, 8-1.

Carly Kingery (3-6) notched her first shutout of the season, tossing the complete game four-hitter. She struck out nine and didn't issue a walk.
Offensively, the Tritons tallied nine hits, including two from senior
Chelsea Martinez. Martinez's RBI single in the third inning gave UMSL a 1-0 lead, while in the fourth, senior
Madi Sundling delivered her first home run of the season before senior
Reagan Osborn added an RBI single to make it 3-0.
Game 2: #1 Saint Anselm 8, UMSL 1

The defending national runner-ups pounded out 11 hits, jumping out to a 3-0 lead after their first at-bat.
UMSL scored its run in the bottom of the first inning on a RBI single off the bat of senior
Lizzy Miller. Miller and freshman
Jessica Mrzlak had two hits each for the Tritons, which tallied six as a team.
Junior
Andee Tiffee (2-2) struck out seven, but walked four and allowed five runs on seven hits in four innings in the start.
