ST. LOUIS, MO. – For the first time since the 1990-91 season, the University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball team has won 20 games as the Tritons picked up a 77-69 win at Maryville on Saturday in the regular season finale.
UMSL will now turn its attention to the 2019 GLVC Tournament, which will be held March 7-10 on the campus of SIUE in Edwardsville, Ill. The Tritons begin play on Thursday in quarterfinal round action. The league office will release the complete bracket later tonight.

How it Happened
UMSL raced out to a 13-3 lead four minutes in, knocking down 3-of-5 three-pointers, before building a 35-19 advantage with just under six minutes to play. The Saints then went on a 13-2 run over the next four minutes, pulling within five at 37-32 before the Tritons took a 44-32 lead into the half after Carson knocked in a shot from 30 feet out at the buzzer.
An 8-4 start to the second half helped UMSL equal its largest lead at 52-36 on a three-pointer from sophomore
Anthony Hughes. The Saints pulled within single digits 58-49 with 11:42 and then later used a 12-1 run, capped with 10 straight, to get within 63-61. However, the Tritons followed with the next six points and Maryville would get no closer.
